When we give
the poor their right not just to receive but also choose,
we will have taken the most important step against poverty.
True development is possible only when the process is
truly democratic.
It was to work towards this end that, Praxis Institute
For Participatory Practices was set up in 1997 by ActionAid
India. The primary focus was and still is to facilitate
the use of participatory practices in human development.
Be it training in the use of participatory tools, people
centred research, intensive documentation or proactive
intiatives, Praxis uses every opportunity to promote
participation in development.
With offices in Patna, Delhi, Chennai and one in the
UK, we hope to expand our scope in the years to come.
